Defense Expert Testifies Mar-a-Lago Worth $12 Billion
Trump's Appraisal Valuation Compared to Mona Lisa Sale
Expert's Testimony Contradicts Previous Valuations
In a recent deposition, Donald Trump defended his belief that his Mar-a-Lago Club is worth $1 billion by comparing it to the recent sale price of the Mona Lisa painting.
However, a defense expert has testified that Mar-a-Lago's actual value is significantly lower, at approximately $12 billion. This valuation contradicts previous appraisals of the property, including one by the Palm Beach County assessor, which estimated its market value between $18 million and $276 million.
According to Forbes' latest evaluation in March, Mar-a-Lago is worth $350 million. In last year's tax rolls, the property was assigned a total market value of $276 million, and while the 2022 rolls have not yet been finalized, the current valuation is expected to remain similar.
The defense expert's testimony has raised questions about the accuracy of Trump's valuation and the potential implications it may have for his legal and financial dealings involving Mar-a-Lago.
